All Jigged Out
Celtic Jazz-Funk five-piece.
Reviews:
from Folkandroots.co.uk:
All Jigged Out ? Wish Hill (Hobgoblin Records HOBCD1004)
""The opening few bars of this tremendous instrumental album will immediately catch your attention! For those of you who can cast your mind back to Moving Hearts or early Davy Spillane you?ll feel comfortable in an indulgent sort of way and those who can cast their mind even further back there are touches of Vladimir Cosma who wrote the inspired score for the David McCallum TV version of ?Kidnapped?. This sense of grandeur explodes from arrangements such as ?The All-Knowing Salmon/McArthur Road? featuring the band?s jazz/folk cross-over brilliantly with a Grapelli-esque Benjamin Lee (fiddle) sparring with the flute of Philippe Barnes. Thanks for stopping by, Here’s a bit about me…….
I’m a singer/songwriter of Anglo Irish descent, (My mum was Irish). I’m currently based in the UK, although I’m more than happy to combine my love of music with my love of travelling.
My dad bought me my first Guitar when I was 9, he played banjo and Ukulele, so he showed me a few chords and I worked the rest out for myself.
Although my musical influences are diverse some of the main ones are The Eagles, Jackson Browne, Elvis, The Beatles, plus contemporary artists like Keith Urban and Martina McBride, My core sound is Country - Rock/Pop, Americana with a Celtic feel thrown in here and there.
I’ve worked in most major studios in the UK and had recording and publishing deals with both major and indie companies in the UK,... visit their site >>
Asiago
Asiago was formed in Trondheim, Norway summer 2007 by five young men with experience from former and current Trondheim bands (such as Josephine, So-so slow and Monkfish). The members have been through a period of getting to know one and other musically, before starting to write and compose songs with a musical style that fits everybody. The next step for Asiago is to play for as many people as they can, and also to produce and record songs while they are in their early stages (through creation and rehearsal). When enough songs of quality have been through this process, Asiago will re-record these songs for an album or an EP, hopefully still playing concerts on a regular basis. visit their site >>
Beautiful Company
Beautiful Company was created on 'All Hallows Eve' in the year 1980 with the birth of one child. As the years passed on and the child grew older the childs path in life became clear. Then for his twelth birthday an old battered acoustic guitar was places in his hands. And with that moment he had the tools to create a strange and unusal noise. As the years passed the child learned to master his craft and with the dawning of the year 2006 Beautiful Company revealed himself to the world. visit their site >>

It's not our place to try to tell you how to think. Chances are you'll not see Bitchfinder Genital playing gigs any time soon as mostly our efforts require each person to play more than one instrument. Charlie Uniform November Tango
"""Bouncers carrying vocalists off stage, guitarists wielding mic stands at the decorations and a skinny gas-masked bassist squealing distorted orders at the audience whilst jutting about like an undernourished, over medicated kid.
With instruments arguing with stabs of distortion, static and nauseating changes in timing and speed, Charlie Uniform November Tango's sound comes in waves. Either in dense blasts of sound, where you can't separate lead singer Sophie's high pitched screaming from the bands constant feedback, or where they lumber over each other frantically like a swarm of bee's trying to pollinate your frontal lobe.""

I would love to play with other musicians and maybe even get myself involved with a band and also to branch out into other areas and play with other musicians or just experience playing in front of new people.

Finlay Morton
Aberdeen-born Finlay Morton releases the follow up to the much lauded ‘Interpret This’. On ‘Back To Basics’, Morton builds on his much loved formula of bringing together the irreverent, the humorous and the heartfelt to make his form of rock/blues/country all the more sweet.
When Interpret This was released, it picked up play from BBC Radio 2, Radio Scotland and BBC Wales, and garnered attention from The Times, The Express and The Sunday Star; so the forthcoming release of Back To Basics will surely be met by many an anticipating ear.

Fortune Faded Glory
Fortune Faded Glory has been in the making for 12 years, since the day that Craig Hammer picked up a guitar there was always going to be something that eventually led to his songs being shown to the world in one way or another. Its the latter of the bunch that have really propelled Craig to writing the music he is finally comfortable with, and the recruitment of James Lawrence on guitar spurred the birth of Fortune Faded Glory in late November 2005. THE FUSION...
After graduating from the RCM Ben Lee played violin sessions with a wide range of artists as well as putting together his own bands to experiment and develop his eclectic sound.
Unbeknown to Ben, running in parallel was an emerging electric violinist, Linzi Stoppard, with an unequalled ambition to broaden the instrument’s appeal and make it accessible to a more mainstream audience.
Linzi was looking for a collaborator to help bring her vision and sound to life. Her manager (and husband) Will put the word out to a few of his old music clients and was quickly directed to one of Ben’s bands who had played a session for a producer Will used to manage.
The violinists met and the bond was instant - not only did Linzi and Ben share a limitless imagination, their... visit their site >>

Garry Wonfor
Hi!
I'm Garry. I now live on the South coast and sing and play as much as I can. I've played in bands all my adult life; most recently in London based Three Blind Mice and a duo called Stray Dogs which is an off-shoot of 3 Blind Mice.
I had some commercial success in the 80's which was great. I really enjoyed myself and experienced the 'big time'. Musically, my life is less hectic now although I still enjoy writing and performing.
I have selected a number of songs that I have either written myself or co-written with Alex Grayson and Lyndon J Connah. A lot of them are about my experiences and the many wonderful and interesting people that I have known over the years.
I hope you enjoy them, let me know. visit their site >>

Little London are all about the live show. They know from years of gig-going that the best bands go balls-out to blast a crowd away with energy, conviction and a healthy sense of humour. They have learned from observing the masters recent high-profile support slots (with such acts as Turbonegro and The Datsuns, McQueen, plus a coveted set at the 2006 Isle of Wight festival) have shown they have the guts and power to become masters in their own right.

Mark Ruebery
MARK RUEBERY
BIOGRAPHY
In a world where today's pop stars are mostly the product of style over content, where clever studio trickery presides over natural born talent, Mark Ruebery is a glaring sore thumb, a black sheep with a brooding stare that his future fans may well be happy to swim in.
Mark is all about the voice, the craft, the songs.
"I've been writing them my whole life," he says. "Writing songs and playing my own music is all I've ever wanted to do."
Mark was born in Newport, Wales, his father a fanatic of rock 'n' roll who introduced him, while still very young and impressionable, to the Beatles, the Stones and ELO "and I loved them all."
Under his father's encouragement, Mark began to get musical. By seven years old he was sitting before the piano and... visit their site >>

Momo
Momo is the brainchild of former child prodigy Toni Castells, a one-time classical musician based in London who after starting his first pop band aged 11, has been since experimenting and fusing classical music with popular, electronic and other commercial genres of music achieving great success in different musical projects both in Spain and the UK. Momo’s debut studio album, ‘Unharmed’, reached the Top 20 on the iTunes Electronica charts in November 2007.
According to Grammy award winning classical producer Michael Haas, “the obvious reference to describe Toni’s music is: Morricone meets Satie. Morricone comes to mind because there is a cinematic vividness to Toni’s music that like his, exudes expanse and distance. It’s dramatic and seems to come from distant times and places.... visit their site >>
My Left Retina
"I used to rap hard... or at least i wanted to show the world i could speak as well as make beats. I made an album called 'Foreclosure'. I don't know if it will ever come out, it was supposed to a while back... its 10 tracks of guitar based alt hip hop that leans heavily on words as a crutch of sorts.
Now i make mainly instrumental music to excite myself using a bunch of soft synths i stole from flatmates and friends.
I still rap. But thats for me and my immeadiates mainly."

A few years later he broke away from The Impeccables to front his own band 'Irish Mancs' taking Impeccables drummer Dixie with him. Whilst enjoying success and supporting bands. Paul Carney
Paul’s singing career spans several decades. Coming from a musical family in the North East of England, Paul began performing as a child, singing and acting in many stage productions. After spells in Rock and Pop bands, Paul teamed up with his family as guitarist and backing singer in a country band led by his Uncle. Their tight vocal harmonies and high energy music was an instant hit and Paul stayed with the band for many years.
Paul switched genres to join a local rock band, where he co-wrote melodies and lyrics with the bands guitarist. They won a large army of local admirers for their original and exciting Indie rock sound.
Despite taking time out to bring up his children, Paul never neglected his music. He continued to perform live and worked with many musicians co-writing... visit their site >>

We're a pretty new band, have only been together for about a month or two. Influenced by bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, we enjoy nothing more than creating our own wall of sound (Though we should probably get round to recording our music).
We don't think we're the best, and don't care either. We just want to have fun with what we do and hope others enjoy what they hear!

Proof Of Concept
"James Foster AkA Proof Of Concept
Since he was a child James has been around music, both parents were music teachers so he had a lot of exposure to classical music and even tried (and failed) to learn Violin, Piano and the awful (parents idea not his) recorder.
In his early teens James bought an electric guitar, learnt how to use it, and now considers it his primary instrument. Although it does not feature in any of my music he has released, what he learnt with guitar taught him how to construct tunes. After a few years of messing with my guitar James got an excellent digital echo delay unit and used it to construct and layer loops, for him this was the first step into electronic music.
When James was sixteen he got his first PC, within the first twenty four hours he had... visit their site >>

Im just someone who LOVES music. I live, breathe and give birth to it. Ive been writing music since the age of 16, self taught guitarist and still learning more every single day. There are a thousand melodies running through my head and i use the guitar as my outlet, my release to get them out. Steve Dagleish
Steve Dagleish ditched a successful banking career in 2003 to pursue making music. Following songwriting workshops with Willy Russell and Ray Davies, Steve is now focused on writing, recording and performing.
‘The folk/blues riffs echo Dylan and Neil Young, the Jansch/Davey Graham stylings are finger-picking good, elegiac strings evoke Nick Drake or George Martin. Measured against his mentors he's young enough to find a home alongside nu-folk and eschew the old folk variety for a while yet.’

The Cellorythmics
Brief History
Cellorhythmics was formed nearly 10 years ago by James Hesford and Alfia Nakip-Bekova to explore new contexts for the cello which at the time was still locked into its classical confines. James comes from a self taught background of jazz, soul and rock and Alfia from traditional classical (Moscow Conservatoire - student of Mstislav Rostropovich).
Originally the band consisted of 2 cellos, Alfia and James, a percussionist (Neville Murray from Jah Wobble fame) and saxes (Di Pritchard from Loose Tubes). The music was originally writted for 4 cellos but it wasn't till the late 90's that the music was presented in this format. Since then many cellist have played for the band including:Ben Davis, Ken Ichinose, John Cottle, Steve Anstee,Andy Nice and double bass player... visit their site >>

The Echo Heights
It’s September 1995 and the final death throws of perennial pop underdogs The Dentists have reached their logical conclusion. The band go their separate ways, although as one last parting gift to the world, three of the members loosely hang together and eventually release an album of what is effectively Dentists works-in-progress, under the name Coax. The singer disappears into the world of accountancy somewhere in Russia, the drummer just disappears and Mark Matthews retreats to his room to learn to play the guitar better and dabble with the opportunities afforded through technology and home recording. The songs start to trickle out, and various combos are launched and implode with no or minimal success. With an eye-catching line-up of vocals, acoustic guitar and drums, audiences are often taken by surprise at the intensity of the sound created by such a minimal arrangement. What you will take away is a memory of incredibly personal songs, which somehow manage to speak to each individual member of the audience. The Ryes
The Ryes are a band who make pop music like it used to be. With one foot in the past and the other firmly in the present, The Ryes display a pure pop sensibility inspired by classic British bands from The Beatles to The Kinks and the Britpop classics of Blur and Pulp, plus an obvious love of classic British rock from Queen to The Police. Spiced with a dash of Californian harmonies harking back to The Beach Boys, this is a band with the intent to write big classic pop songs.
The Ryes first incarnation came when fifteen-year-old Essex boy Dan Williams (keyboards, vocals) met Paul Canning (lead vocals) after a fight kicked off during a five-aside football game. Dan was at the centre of it but he’s pulled away by a stranger called Paul. Quickly bonding over a mutual adoration for The... visit their site >>

Take The Velvet Hearts for example, one of them has a father responsible for one of the biggest tunes ever heard and another works with the most successful British female album seller of the last two decades.
Growing up on a stringent diet of Rock and Roll has put this six piece in fine stead, their groove rock anthemic style is a tribute to their legacy, a homage to their past and most notably they posses a shameless troubadour spirit which is ever so clear in their Live shows. “Our Dads took us to the Blues Tavern for our first pint at the age of fourteen.
