One of the UK’s most exciting electronic bands, Hyper, return to the fray with an explosive new single ‘Centre Attraction’. Bass-crunching, speaker-blowing noisy electronica with attitude rips this tune that’s just starting to escape on promo right on time for the festival season.
A live set favourite already, the first new Hyper single, ‘Centre Attraction’ vocalled by Jim Davies, is a pogo-at-the-front type of tune that grabs you from its first ‘digital punk’ burn. ‘Sticking the knife into the cult of celebrity’,’ Centre Attraction’ is peaktime action that screams to be played very loud indeed. Press play and stand back.
Always keen to stay ahead of the game when it comes to remixers, Hyper enlist the storming services of hot mixers GeRM and South Central for some dark electronic mayhem. First up come newbies GeRM (myspace.com/germgermgerm). who with just one remix (Futureheads' latest single, 'Radio Heart') under their belt, have already seen plays across the radio board and beyond from the likes of Zane Lowe, Kissy Sell Out, Eddy Temple Morris, Adam Freeland and Auto Kratz. With such a special Remix, its only a matter of time before these guys blow.
Next up come South Central (myspace.com/southcentralmusic), who are already making serious waves with remixes under their belt for everyone from Maccabees, Klaxxons, The Wombats and The Whip! Their Remix dives into a Death Metal wall of sound guaranteed to make you dance, and much loved by Hyper, you'll just have to decide for yourself what genre this fits into!
The debut album 'We Control' signaled Hyper's real musical arrival, with its potent blend of electronica, thrashy rock and punk dance attitude. You will no doubt be familiar with Hyper’s work, either from radio plays, car adverts, movie trailers or from any major US TV shows . As a Live band, Hyper have now stormed many of the major festivals from Glastonbury to Roskilde along the way, and 2008 sees them deliver the much anticipated follow up album, 'Suicide Tuesday'.
A no-holds barred album of 'digital punk rock' featuring vocal collaborations from Charlotte (Subways), Leeroy (ex - Prodigy), new live singer Axe, Dead Kid Keiron Pepper and former Pitchshifter axe man, Jim Davies, Hyper are back on the attack.
Hyper is the brainchild of Guy Hatfield, (DJ Hyper) who launched the band with producer & drum chief, John Ross and Jim Davies (ex Prodigy & Pitchshifter) on guitars. A wealth of experience in the dance, punk, rock, scare and electronica scenes, Hyper share a real passion and belief in their new music employing an impressive range of singers to work with them both Live and in the studio. Electrifying and genre-defying, Hyper are on this summer.
‘Centre Attraction’ is the abrasive new single from Hyper and starting to rip on promo ahead of its August release date on Kilowatt.
