Matt has been writing his own music during 2004, when his band Crystal Clear went on a break during the summer. Since then, his solo music has become his outlet.
In the early days, Matt took inspiration from the current Indie/Acoustic scene, using simple folk influences, and singing with a strong English accent.
However after a few years he became increasingly let down by the local music scene and became numbed to the countless screamo/death metal bands out there, singing about nothing but anger and hate. Because of this, he found refuge in the 1960s music scene, bands like Lovin' Spoonful, The Beatles, The Mamas and Papas and Bob Dylan. This is where his biggest influence came from, and with the influences of experimental chill-out musician John Frusciante, Matt created his own style.
Matt has never been recorded at a professional studio, or been approached by a record label. What you see here is one musician who makes music because he loves it, and for no other reason.
